Main Functions of the Agency
- Ensure the drawing up of a balance sheet for land, the registration of agricultural land resources, and the management of databases;
- Registration of agricultural land resources and creation unified and integrated database;
- Carry out State monitoring of land use and ensure availability of relevant information;
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of state policy and relevant state-targeted programmes for the designated use and protection of agricultural land resources;
Participate in the planning of activities to fight against desertification and land degradation, and to restore soil fertility; - Participation in the development and implementation of the state policy for the targeted use and protection of agricultural land resources and relevant state programs;
- Participation in the planning and implementation of the measures related to the management of the windbreak strip;
- Receiving and reviewing the application regarding the investment plan related to the privately owned agricultural land plot, preparing relevant documentation for submission to the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (later - Ministry), and supervising the implementation of the investment plan;
- Preparation of the thematic maps related to the land use;
- Participation in establishing administrative-territorial borders;
- Keeping, protecting, and access to documents submitted to the agency in accordance with the law;
- Participation in international and local grant competitions and implementation of relevant measures within the project;
- Receiving grants from international donor organizations and implementing relevant measures within the framework of the grants;
- Implementation of other duties according to the Georgian Legislation.
