The Government of Georgia Approves the Resolution “On Approval of the Rules for Drawing Up the Land Balance and Accounting of Agricultural Land Resources”
The resolution prepared by the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia outlines plans for drawing up a land balance, accounting for agricultural land resources, and creating a unified database.
The resolution will contribute to the development of the land market and the rational use and protection of agricultural land plots.
Agricultural land resources will be registered in the unified database based on the agricultural land plots registered in the National Agency of Public Registry (NAPR), which will also include their cadastral data.
According to the resolution, the data regarding the land areas of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region reflect the state prior to the occupation of these territories. The preparation of Georgia's land balance and the registration of its statistical data did not occur after 2004.
The resolution of the Government of Georgia "On Approval of the Rules for Drawing Up the Land Balance and Accounting of Agricultural Land Resources" was developed in accordance with the law of Georgia “On Determining the Designated Purpose of Land and Sustainable Management of Agricultural Land”.
The resolution adopted by the Government of Georgia will come into effect immediately upon its publication. The final version of the land balance will be made public on the websites of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring (www.mepa.gov.ge, www.land.gov.ge) by July 1, 2024.
