Georgia and Uzbekistan launch cooperation in the field of land management
A memorandum of understanding and cooperation has been signed between the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring and the State Scientific-Project Institute (Uzdavyerloyiha) of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The document aims to foster cooperation in the fields of land management, geodesy, geoinformation technologies, scientific research, and land cadastral valuation. The parties have agreed to implement joint projects and studies, organize conferences and seminars, and exchange relevant information. Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening research and practical activities, sharing international experience, and introducing best practices.
"The memorandum will make a significant contribution to the exchange of experience between our countries and the adoption of innovative approaches in land use," said Giorgi Misheladze, Chairman of the Agency, during the signing ceremony.
In turn, Ruhidin Turaev, Director General of the Scientific-Project Institute, emphasized the importance of cooperation in advancing modern land use and geoinformation technologies.
The memorandum was signed in Tashkent during a meeting at the State Scientific-Research Institute of Uzbekistan (Uzgiprozem), where the parties discussed topics such as agricultural land monitoring and management, geobotanical surveys of pastures, determination of land’s normative value, remote sensing, and other related areas.
