Within the framework of the fourteen stages of the state program, from 2021 to the present, active lease agreements have been signed for 222 pastures (21,140 ha), including: 13,155 ha - 165 pastures through direct transfer, and 7,985 ha - 57 pastures through auction.
Detailed information about the pastures available for lease under the 15th stage is published on the official websites of the LEPL National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (www.land.gov.ge and www.mepa.gov.ge).
The state has been implementing this program since 2021, under which farmers owning cattle and small livestock are given the opportunity to obtain the desired pastures through an auction and dispose of them under the terms of a three-year lease agreement. By establishing private legal responsibility for pastures, this program promotes their rational use, prevents degradation, and helps the sustainable development of the livestock sector.
