More Than 11 Hectares of Ploughed Pastures Identified Through Land Use Monitoring
As a result of monitoring conducted in the first quarter of the current year, the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring identified cases of improper use of pastures. On-site inspections of leased pastures revealed that 7 agricultural land plots in the pasture category, with a total area of 11.07 hectares, had been ploughed.
The monitoring was carried out within the framework of the “State Program for Access to State-Owned Pastures,” in order to ensure control over lessees’ compliance with their contractual obligations.
Ploughing of pastures leads to the disruption of local ecosystems and soil degradation. In connection with these violations, the Agency has forwarded the relevant materials to the Department of Environmental Supervision for follow-up action.
Land resource monitoring is an important mechanism of state control, contributing to the sustainable management of land resources and the protection of soil from degradation.
