The National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring is Offering Internships to Students
Giorgi Misheladze, the Chairman of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, engaged with students from Ilia State University (Iliauni) during an online employment forum.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the agency spoke in detail about the activities, vision, and structure, as well as the future plans for the development of the newly created agency. Additionally, he introduced interested students to positions within the agency, offering the new generation an opportunity to participate in its activities through a six-month internship.
The Agency is dedicated to integrating European land management practices based on contemporary visions, approaches and technologies. To fulfill its objectives, the Agency is committed to executing targeted programs. Among these initiatives is the State Program Inventory of Windbreak Strips, which has already received approval from the Government of Georgia. The pilot program is scheduled to commence this month in Telavi municipality. Significantly, the Agency seeks to engage specialists in geographic information systems (GIS), statisticians, surveyors, land tenure experts, and forestry specialists. These fields present opportunities for collaboration with the agency, particularly for recent graduates and final-year students with outstanding academic achievements.
"It is encouraging to see young individuals being afforded the chance to interact with representatives from the public service sector. This practice allows them to gain valuable insights into various public agencies, potentially paving the way for future collaboration if they envision themselves working in these sectors," remarked Giorgi Misheladze. He concluded the meeting by addressing the students' inquiries. The specific date and terms of the six-month internship will be announced at a later time.
