In Telavi Municipality, the inspection of the pilot project for the windbreak inventory was carried out
The pilot project for the "State Program for Windbreak Inventory" is currently underway in Telavi municipality. The project's objective is to identify existing windbreaks, as well as those that are degraded or destroyed. This entails assessing the species composition and moisture structure of the plants in these areas, and producing cadastral survey drawings for registering the corresponding land plots in the public registry.
Giorgi Misheladze, Chairman of the Agency, and Paata Chipashvili, Head of the Agency's Targeted Land Use and Management Department, inspected the work carried out by the contractor company of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring and conducted a final compliance inspection.
Preliminary data suggests that approximately 430 hectares of land will be documented and registered in the public registry as a windbreak strip in Telavi Municipality. Regarding private windbreaks, their status will be determined in consultation with the owners.
The "State Program for Windbreak Inventory" aims to complete the nationwide inventorying of windbreaks by 2025.
