The Government of Georgia has approved a resolution "On the Rule for Restoration, Cultivation, Maintenance, Protection, and Supervision of Windbreaks
The resolution has been approved according to the requirements of the law of Georgia "On the windbreak (field protection) strip".
The restoration and development of windbreaks is a set of economic measures and aims to fulfill the functional purpose of windbreaks and to restore and improve the amortized windbreaks and/or build new windbreaks.
The restoration and cultivation of windbreak strips will be carried out based on a plan that will be approved by the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, taking into account the results of windbreak strip inventory and/or special research.
In the process of planning the restoration and cultivation of windbreak strips, the strength of the winds specific to a particular municipal area, types of trees resistant to them, planting methods, and other measures will be taken into account. The rule also regulates maintenance and protection measures for windbreak strips.
The measures outlined in the resolution will aid in safeguarding the soil against wind erosion and preserving its fertility, thereby ensuring a suitable soil and microclimate environment for agricultural crops.
