The National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring and The National Agency of Public Registry Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation
The National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the National Agency of Public Registry of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Giorgi Misheladze, the Chairman of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, and Natia Chirikashvili, the Chairman of the National Agency of Public Registry, signed the Memorandum.
The cooperation of agencies facilitates the collection and processing of information, both archival and field data, regarding the actual use of land plots. The National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring will utilize the information obtained from the National Agency of Public Registry to draw up the land balance and establish a unified database. The parties will engage in developing methodologies to determine the categorization of agricultural land plots. Moreover, during the systematic registration of land plot rights, agencies will streamline the process of land plot unification (consolidation) and actively contribute to the development and implementation of strategic documents in this field. Additionally, the agencies will collaborate on database production, processing, and security matters.
"With the information collected and processed during the systematic registration of land, we will be able to draw up a unified land balance and account agricultural land resources. This will facilitate the creation of a single electronic register, assisting our population in accessing information relevant to their interests, whether it pertains to land quality, category, or purpose," stated Giorgi Misheladze.
In her capacity as the chairman of the National Agency of Public Registry, Natia Chirikashvili emphasized that the information collected in the field about the actual use of land will be processed and transferred to the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring. This will lay the groundwork for the creation of a comprehensive land fund.
The signing of the memorandum establishes a foundation for collaborative efforts between the agencies. Cooperation on various projects will create an information base and develop tools to support the implementation of sustainable land management policies in Georgia.
