The state program “Access to State-Owned Pastures” was introduced in Dmanisi Municipality

The Chairman of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, Giorgi Misheladze, discussed the details of the program at a meeting with representatives of self-government and farmers.
At present, within the framework of the program, the total area of pastures selected by the Agency in the Kvemo Kartli region is 6,602 ha. This includes: Dmanisi - 52 land plots, totaling 6,255 ha; Tetritskaro - 6 plots of land, totaling 241 ha; and Tsalka - 2 plots of land, totaling 106 ha.

Detailed information about the agricultural land plots of the selected pasture category is available on the websites of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (www.mepa.gov.ge) and the Agency (www.land.gov.ge

). The submission of applications and attached documentation to participate in the program for selected pastures has started and will continue until April 26.
On October 6, 2021, the Government of Georgia approved the state program on "Access to State-Owned Pastures". The program allows livestock owners to secure and use preferred pastures through an auction within the framework of a three-year lease agreement. The program aims to promote rational pasture use, protect pastures from degradation, and simultaneously facilitate the development of the livestock sector by establishing legitimate private responsibility for pastures.
