National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring

The State Program “Access to State-Owned Pastures” was introduced in the Gardabani Municipality

At a working meeting held in the Gardabani Municipality, Merab Kvaraya, the first deputy chairman of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, discussed the details, objectives, and conditions of participation in the state program “Access to State-owned Pastures” with the mayor of the municipality, representatives from the villages, and local farmers.

At the current stage, within the framework of the program, the total area of pastures selected by the agency in the Kvemo Kartli region for leasing is 6,602 hectares. Information about those pastures is available on the websites of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (www.mepa.gov.ge) and the Agency (www.land.gov.ge). The submission of applications and attached documentation for participating in the program for leasing selected pastures has started and will continue until April 26.

The mentioned program was adopted by the Government of Georgia on October 6, 2021. Farmers who pursue animal husbandry are given the opportunity to obtain the desired pasture through an auction and utilize it within the framework of a three-year lease agreement.
