The Chairman of the National Agency for Sustainable land Management and Land Use Monitoring Met with the Permanent Representative of JICA

The Chairman of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, Giorgi Misheladze, met with the Permanent Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to Georgia, Hiroyuki Mori.

During the meeting, Misheladze and Mori discussed the tasks facing the land agency, which are required to be implement in the short and long term. They emphasized the importance of JICA's support in developing the agency's capacity.

Misheladze highlighted the main functions of the agency, including compiling the land balance, creating a unified electronic system of agricultural lands, and monitoring land use. The meeting underscored the importance of establishing a satellite monitoring system, which necessitates appropriate system software and qualified personnel.

At the meeting, Misheladze and Mori expressed confidence in successful cooperation, particularly in improving personnel qualifications.

JICA project formulation adviser, Ishii Hozumi and the head of the Strategic Development Department of the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring, Giorgi Zakaidze, also attended the meeting.
