Farmers in Dedoplistskaro municipality familiarized themselves with the terms of the state program on “Access to state-owned pastures”
At a meeting held in Dedoplistskaro Municipality, representatives from the National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring introduced to farmers the terms of the state program on "Access to State-Owned Pastures". Acquiring detailed information on the state program will enable farmers, upon completing the necessary procedures, to join and avail themselves of a 3-year lease of pastures registered under state ownership.
The state program, approved by the Government of Georgia on October 6, 2021, aims to promote the rational use of pastures and implement a fair and accurate transfer mechanism for farmers. Only farmers owning cattle and/or small cattle have the right to avail pastureland plots through auction. The allocation is set at a minimum of 1 hectare and a maximum of 1.5 hectares for each head of cattle, and a minimum of 0.2 hectares and a maximum of 0.5 hectares for each head of sheep or goat.
As of today, data for the leasing of 362 pasture units through auction has been published in four stages. Currently, 105 of these units are available and accepting applications.
